Secret WIP revealed!

My knitting progress on the blog has been very spotty (okay, non-existent) lately. But that's because I've been working on a secret project!

Now I'm at 13 weeks and I can tell all of you - The Sweetie and I are having a baby in May!

How was this related to my non-knitting? Well, while I haven't actually been sick like Cara, but for a good part of the first trimester, looking at or even thinking about knitting made me feel queasy, so I've been sorrowfully without knitting. That's beginning to fade a bit, and I'm able to do a few stitches here and there. I'm taking it slow, because I've read that during pregnancy you could be more prone to carpal tunnel syndrome than usual.

I'm trying not to go overboard with tons of baby knitting plans - what I get done, I'll get done. (Although truth be told, I'd rather do newborn size stuff than bigger kids stuff - newborn size is so much smaller and faster!) I also fantasized about making a Mommy Snug but I'm not sure my sweater knitting speed is up to it!

Our official due date is May 9, we don't know yet if it's a boy or a girl. I'll keep y'all posted, although this blog will still be primarily about knitting. We're both excited and terrified!

Congratulations! What wonderful news. I always wanted to have my babies in the spring but had to suffer through summer heat instead. Good luck with everything!

Congratulations! It might be difficult for you to moderate the knitting with a new little one to outfit! There are so many beautiful baby patterns...

Congratulations! Let the lifestyle change commence! Seriously, though, that is wonderful news. It seems a bit foreign, since I am at the other end of the child-rearing spectrum, but it's always nice to hear that knitters are procreating.

Oh WOW ... Congratulations!! BTW, if you need something warm to wear for the winter but not a BIG coat, try a knitted poncho. Worked best for me (30+ years ago, LOL) Oh I can see you knitting at least the Pea Pod for the expected wee one ...

Hello Kim! Thanks for coming over to make a visit to the blog, and congratulations on your baby! I'm still not entirely used to natural phenomena for which there is, essentially, no warning - I'm only glad, now that I know more about earthquakes, that I live somewhere that (technically) can withstand a decent tremor. Now, if only I could get used to all the sunshine... Not a whole lot of that back in Kansas, where I emigrated here from... :0)

Congratulations!! My first pregnancy was the most exciting, scariest time of my life. I spent nearly 9 months repeating in my head, "Oh my God, I'm going to have a baby!"

I am so far behind on blogs, I couldn't even remember if I had congratulated you yet! I don't see myself in the comments section, so I guess I haven't.

Enjoy your pregnancy and the baby knitting. There is nothing so fun as having your baby wear something you made.
