Random Wednesday

I have no new photos to show you, so this post is photoless. But I wanted to check in and let you know I'm still pregnant.

Today is my last day at work. It's surreal - I've always been a full-time something: student, worker. (With the exception of a couple of periods of unemployment / looking for a job. ) After today, I'll be off on leave for a bit, and then return to work part time, and working (mostly) from home.

I keep hoping this means I'll have more time to knit and maybe sew and quilt. Ha ha ha.... I'm hoping at least to keep up with laundry.

I'm working on spiral striped baby socks, which I think are turning out in a good size. But I haven't taken a picture of them, so I haven't blogged about them.

Blogging will continue to be spotty, as after today (when I don't have a work schedule) my computer time will be spotty. That's going to be weird also. I've been mostly attached to the Internet all day, every weekday for over a decade.

Blog reading will also likely be spotty. Sorry, y'all.

42 cloth diapers is a really tall stack of diapers. If I had a photo, I'd show you. (Bad blogger.)

Hopefully, I will show you some photos of socks tomorrow. If I manage to get computer time in. Tomorrow's #1 priority at the moment is sewing curtains. Curtains require much pinning.

Random enough for you?

Keeping up with the laundry is an excellent goal.

You are at a really amazing place in your life and I always love when soon-to-be-mothers are here (and I loved it when I was). At the moment all you know is that there are big changes coming but you have no clue exactly how those changes are going to affect you. In a few weeks, you'll know. And in a few months, it will all be old hat to you.

I remember my SIL and I shopping when she was about 7 mos. pg. She saw some disposable breast pads and said, "Ooh, I better get these. I don't know why I'll need them but my sister used them."

When I saw her a few months after the baby was born, she was an old pro at mothering. And she knew exactly what to do with the breast pads!

I found this time (before we adopted an 8 m.o.) to be surreal, just like you said. No matter what you do, you can never really be prepared for what is coming because you just can't know whether or not you'll be able to keep knitting, or get enough sleep, or have a content or a crying baby or what.

But you'll adjust fast. :-)

So exciting.

Good luck with keeping up with the laundry. But you'll find a way to do it all ... we all did in time.

That first night you look at the little guy sleeping in his crib, you'll know that you life will never be the same as it is right now ever again.
